Regulatory Investigations > The Financial Services Authority (the FSA)
The FSA is the single regulator responsible for investment business, financial institutions, Lloyds and recently, the insurance industry. The FSA has wider powers than any other body under a previous regime, and has a consolidated toolkit for investigations, disciplinary and enforcement action:
- powers of entry
- search and seize
- interviews under caution
- civil and criminal prosecutions
- withdrawal of authorisation
- restitution
- fines and penalties
Robin Simon LLP has been instructed in connection with FSA investigations into Splits, Shortselling, Endowments, Precipice Bonds, Market Abuse, Distortion and breaches of the UKLA. Some of these involve consideration of parallel investigations ongoing in the US, Europe and worldwide.
