The Special Relationship

A large proportion of Robin Simon LLP's business is derived from international sources, particularly North America.  As a result, we specialise in legal services tailored to meet the needs of the US insurance and reinsurance markets.  We have a particularly strong reputation for our work on jurisdictional issues.

We understand that both culturally and professionally there are differences between the approach which may be adopted US as opposed to the UK.   This helps to make us the UK insurance specialists that many US insurers turn to when they need trusted advisers to represent their interests across the Atlantic.

We do not have an office in the USA, but we maintain a regular presence there.    We are active members of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).  In 2006, we were the first UK insurance firm to moderate a panel at the Annual New York D&O Symposium, the subject matter being the global exposures faced by US financial lines insurers. Our partners frequently lecture and present papers to the insurance industry across the USA.
