Training Contracts
WHO SHOULD APPLY:
We would like to consider applications from candidates at any stage of life - whether still at university, studying at law school or simply seeking a change of career.
We accept applications from candidates of any discipline, be it law or non-law.
We do not subscribe to the view that academic success is the only way to gauge a candidate's prospects of becoming a successful solicitor. We do not assess applications based on A-level grades or university degrees alone. We do expect academic excellence as a minimum, but we place great importance on the motivation, commitment and character of potential trainees.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Given the size of the firm, as a trainee you can expect to take an active role in cases involving our high profile clients and get heavily involved in high value, complex and high-profile insurance and reinsurance disputes. Soon into the training contract, trainees may even find themselves running their own files on smaller cases. This does not mean that trainees are flung headfirst into the deep end - there is a constant safety net in the form of the open-door policy and support provided by all our staff - partners, fee-earners and support staff.
WHEN TO APPLY
Training contracts generally commence in the second week of September. Applicants are advised to apply two years in advance of the start of their training contract, though consideration of potential candidates is done on an ad hoc basis. Please email your CV and covering letter to training@robinsimonllp.com.
